After the party is over consider taking an Uber or another car service app to get back to your hotel especially if you stay late.

Libertalia

On Thursday nights during the warmer weather months, the hottest Kizomba dance party is at Libertalia (Matuvu Paris).

For the summer of 2023, the new name for Libertalia is Matuvu Paris. The opening party for the Matuvu 2023 Summer is May 13th, 2023!  Likewise, make sure to check Facebook for the latest Kizomba events information.

This lounge is on the Seine River and has beautiful views at night. The parties normally go until 0200am.  It has both an inside and outside area. Moreover, this event is very popular with visiting kizomba dancers from the USA and also Asia.

Matuvu Paris is located just outside the city center. The address is Quai N ° 6 Jean Compagnon 94200 Ivry Sur Seine.

I suggest taking an Uber to and from the lounge as there aren’t any nearby metro stations.

The Eiffel Tower Kizomba Festival

The Eiffel Tower Kizomba Festival is organized each year by the one and only Echo Ogna. This festival is very popular and is held every August in Paris near the Eiffel Tower. This year it will be held from August 17-21, 2023!

Last year the festival was held from August 13th to the 16th.  Many of the events were held in the festival hotel Yooma.  This year the majority of the parties will take place on a boat.

Last year on Saturday all dance classes and parties were held aboard a boat on the Seine river.  Without a doubt, Saturday’s boat parties were the highlight of the festival.

  1. Hi Brian,
Thank you for the article. Would be great if you could mention which of these parties are Urban kiz/fusion, which are kizomba.
Some people prefer a certain style. Would be great to know which one is which.
One of the greatest authentic Kizomba parties in Paris I know if of, is “Back to Basic”, for example.
    Regards.

    1. Hi Elena,

You made a good point! Some of the events are hosted by different Dj’s so it really depends on the night.
For example, at Saida, they played Urban Kiz, Kiz Fusion, Traditional Kizomba, and Semba throughout the night.
At the Eiffel Tower Kizomba Festival, the DJs did a great job of playing Urban Kiz, Kiz Fusion, Traditional Kizomba, Semba, etc.
For both LPK & Libertalia I would say they were more Urban Kiz and Kiz fusion.
I will try to add this information in the next update.

      Thanks for your comment!
      Brian

  2. Hi Brian!
    Thanks for a great article!
One question, did you find anything on wednesdays? I’m looking for something to start off with before the tarraxofestival which begins on a thursday. Now that Kao Suey is not there I don’t know where to look.

    Kind regards,
    Anna

    1. Hi Anna,

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any places to dance Kizomba on Wednesday nights. You might want to reach out to Echo Ogna on Facebook and see if he has any recommendations for you. He is the organizer for the Eiffel Tower Kizomba Festival and another Kizomba Festival in Paris. Enjoy the Tarraxo Festival next month!

      Regards,
      Brian

  3. Brilliant intel, thanks Brian.

Do you know of any DAYTIME Kizomba dancing in Paris?
Indoors, at a park, classes, practice, doesn’t matter.
Especially during the spring: May and beyond…

    1. Thanks, I am not aware of any daytime Kizomba events in Paris. Most of the dancing outdoors at the main square areas that I saw was Salsa and Bachata. Hopefully, Paris will have some new Kizomba daytime events next summer!

      Brian

  4. Hi Brian,
Thank you for your good reportage.
Did you find anything for Friday or Saturday or Sunday in Central Paris?
We are going February 18-21 then flying to Benin for West African Kizomba Festival and then return to Paris March 1-4, so we have some good opportunities to dance.
    Thanks ,
    Suzanne

    1. Hi Suzanne,
Unfortunately, I didn’t find any good spots to dance Kizomba on the weekends.
Have a good trip and let me know if you find any new places to dance.
      Regards,
      Brian
